“Our current State Legislature changed the state aid to schools formula, and that’s cut funding that helps public schools in Millard and Ralston. These cuts have led to property tax increases, costing taxpayers more. Property tax relief is my first priority and I’ll work with both sides to restore funding, help our public schools, and lower property taxes.”
Improve Our Public Schools
We count on our public schools to educate our children and prepare them for a bright future. But when we shortchange our public schools, we hurt our children and our future. I was against the State Legislature’s move to change the state aid to education formula, which means less money to Millard and Ralston schools. And I worry that the Legislature made huge cuts to the University of Nebraska system, which hurts our economy. I’ll work to make our public schools and the University better for our families and our future.
